Christmas Is Finally Here

Ok, at the risk of sounding like a child, I just want to say It's about time Christmas got here. Keep in mind. I work at a magic/costume shop and we rent santa suits. It has been hell. The worst part is, most people renting the santa suits are skinny little people. And they are the ones playing santa. I mean, Come on. Wen I was little I wouldn't even sit on santas lap unless he had a real beard.

With all that said, I am glad that it is all almost over. I have the next 4 days off of work. So I get a nice little vacation in. Then we get to start all over again with the crazyness around easter time with Bunny Suits. I think I may have to burn all the bunny suits just to keep from dealing with it.

I wish every one a happy holidays, and I will post what I get for christmas, Since I am a spoiled brat still.

Renewing the Feel, Panic, and relief

Well this last weekend I finally got a new computer desk. I have been wanting to for a while now. The other one was just taking to much space. My new one is more tall than anything. It only takes up a few feet though, which is nice.

Any ways. So I got the new desk on money to help with space and give my room a new feel for the most part. So I took all my crap off of the old one and got every thing ready to go. I gave my parents my old desk, because they were in the market for a new desk as well (theirs was about 17 years old). So, I got my new desk together and started getting every thing set up. It was very excited. Well, I got my Imac up and the network back up, but when I plugged in my external hard drive, nothing happened. I freaked out. The light on it was coming on and every thing. It was plugged in to the wall and directly into the computer. I tried every thing I knew to fix it, but nothing worked.

I called around to a few places about data recovery. You see my external drive is my back up drive and ITunes storage drive. So I lost every thing. All my music that I paid for and every thing else. My magic I luckily had backed up on a jump drive. The cheapest recover place was going to charge me 60 bucks an hour. Which isn't horrible, but I didn't want them to screw me and charge me for 8 hours. The other price I got was from a guy I know and he was going to charge me 89 bucks flat rate. That I was cool with.

Well, this morning I went to target and bought a new Hard drive to replace my old one. I got it home and out of the package and decided just for the heck of it to use the new cable on my old drive. Low and behold, it worked. I shortly there after found out that I had the wrong power supply plugged into my old drive. It was horrible. I felt like such an idiot. So it turns out I didn't need the new drive. But I will keep it. But now every thing is great. I am so happy. I got all my stuff back. Yay!!

Well Deserved Time Off.

Ah, I feel so refreshed. I have had the last four days off of work. It has been absolutely great. I think I deserved it to. It was my weekend off any ways. Where I work we rotate saturdays. Well because of that every other week if we have that saturday off, then we get that monday off. This gives us a three day weekend every other week. It is great. So this last week, I took a personal day on friday to give me a few days off. It was really nice.

My four days off gave my foot some time to heal. For those that don't know, I am in a walking cast on my right foot because it has been broken for 6 months. This was just recently discovered. But I haven't had to do a ton of walking. I stayed off my feet most the time. Except for the occasional shopping with my mother.

Now I have to start thinking about what I want to do for my vacation next year. I think I still only get 1 week, But I could be wrong. I know that I am going to Dallas, TX at the end of February for a magic convention. This should be fun. Conventions are always a blast. The sad thing is, I want to go to a tech convention this year, But I have no clue where any are. Oh well, Hopefully I will come up on one.

Well thats it for now. It is getting late and I still have to get through a chapter of my CSS book. Until next time.

Am I the Assisstant yet?

So, at my job I do pretty much everything. I make orders for our vendors, check in orders, Receive orders, Make the schedule, Work all shifts, Get new vendors, Take care of issues, and then do normal employee duties. Oh wait, I forgot to mention, I also pick up the slack for when my Manager drops the ball. But I am just a regular employee. The company I work for doesn't even notice every thing I do for it. Like this week for instance, My manager had to go to alabama to do some crap. He didn't decide to do it until the day before. So I get the call sunday afternoon that I have to be at work bright and early on my day off, Because he has shit to do in another state. Being the nice guy that I am, I go along and do it. Well, we are in halloween, and I work for a Costume and magic shop. It is insane this time of year. So monday wasn't horrible, Since I do the scheduling, I had it pretty much covered since nothing serious happend. Today was a different story though. Normally Tuesday - Thursday I work a closing shift to help out with the night help. Since my manager is gone and I am his stand it, I had to open and couldn't close. Which means, I was there by myself with the owner from 8 am until our closer came in at 4 pm. Since I opened I was supposed to be out at 5 pm. Well I don't mind working overtime. Except for when the company yells at me for it. But I stayed until about 6:30 pm. But with all this extra, what do I get? Nothing. Nothing at all. Every thing I have done will go un-noticed. It's a sad world working in a toy store.

Oh the Halloween Season

Well Halloween is fast approaching, and working in a Magic and Costume shop this should be the best time of year. It's not. I have to say I used to always love this holiday, But now I tend to hate it. I guess ever since I have gotten into retail. It was rough for me when I worked at Wal-mart and is even harder on me now. I can't believe some of the stupidity that I see on a daily basis. People ask for some of the dumbest costumes and make some of the rudest comments, just because we didn't get a costume in that they wanted. I don't understand. If it is that much of a problem, then you live a sad life.

Maybe I have just become so frustrated now with this holiday that I can't enjoy it any more. That is really sad though. My goal this year within the next couple of weeks until halloween is to try and enjoy the holiday that I used to love so much when I was younger.
